Jerilyn Sanders became President of Weekend Academy in 2005 after 4 years of serving as the
Chattanooga Coordinator. Jerilyn has a passion for helping children learn in interesting and
memorable ways. Originally from East Tennessee, she returned to the area to bring her
experiences to work for Weekend Academy. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from
Biola University and Master’s degree from Harvard Graduate School of Education. Jerilyn is
married with one son.
Knoxville Coordinator: Lisa McClain, 865-632-3113

Lisa McClain has served as the Knoxville Coordinator for over 10 years. She has enjoyed
watching so many students grow up with Weekend Academy and become young adult
leaders. A long-time staff member, Lisa also wears the hats of Weekend Academy’s
Secretary/Treasurer. Lisa studied Jazz and Sociology at the University of Tennessee at
Knoxville. She is an avid musician and vocalist who often incorporates her love of music and the
arts into her work with the Knoxville Academy students.

Princess Anderson has been the Chattanooga Coordinator for 2 years. She is a home-town girl
who can relate to the children and their families. She enjoys exposing the students to
encounters that are outside of their normal realm of experience. Princess earned her bachelor’
s degree in Education from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a minor in
Spanish. She is married and has one son.
Memphis Coordinator: Doris Ward, 901-372-5616

Doris Ward is a training specialist with Memphis Light Gas and Water University. As the Memphis
Weekend Academy Coordinator, she has been “on loan” through her employer 2 years. Doris
has a BA in Business Administration from LeMoyne Owen College and an MS in Human
Resources from Central Michigan University. She has years of experience mothering and
mentoring young people with Memphis City Schools and her local church. Doris is married with
two grown daughters and one granddaughter.
